Faith Begins One Step at a Time

A gentle guide for those just starting out.

I didn’t start with strong faith. I found it when I was finally ready for change.

This space is for you if you’re curious about faith — or even just wondering where to begin. Whether you’ve never opened a Bible, haven’t prayed in years, or feel like something’s missing, I hope these gentle starting points give you a little clarity (and much grace).

Where Do I Even Start?

1. Try a Daily Devotional or Open the Bible (no pressure)

The Bible is how God speaks to us — but I get it, it can feel overwhelming. You don’t have to start with Genesis or read it cover to cover.

A few simple starting points:

  • 📖 The Gospel of John – A great intro to who Jesus is and what He’s all about

  • 📖 Psalms & Proverbs – Encouraging and practical for everyday life

  • 📘 Or try a short daily devotional that focuses on just one verse and a reflection at a time

Quick tip: One verse and a moment of silence can speak volumes.

2. How Do I Pray?

Prayer isn’t about fancy words or perfect timing; it’s just talking to God. You can whisper, think, write, or say it out loud. He hears it all.

If you're unsure where to begin, here's a simple rhythm you can follow:

  • Praise – Thank God for anything, big or small

  • Repent – Be honest about where you're struggling

  • Ask – Share what’s on your heart

  • Yield – Let go and trust He’s working behind the scenes

Still unsure? That’s okay. Even a quiet “God, I’m here” is enough.

3. What If I Have Doubts?

You will, it's normal. Doubt isn’t the opposite of faith; it’s part of growing. Faith isn’t about never questioning. It’s about continuing to seek, even when things don’t make sense. Ask the questions. Bring the doubts. God’s not intimidated by either.

4. Want to Grow Your Faith?

You’re not meant to do this alone.
I created a free devotional to help you reflect, breathe, and spend quiet time with God — no pressure, just presence.

Final Thoughts

This journey won’t be perfect, and it’s not supposed to be.
Faith isn’t about getting it all right. It’s about showing up, even unsure, and trusting that God is still with you.

Take your time. Ask the hard questions. Start where you are.

And if you're just here to look around — that's okay too.
No pressure, no expectations.
I'm glad you stopped by.

You don’t have to figure it all out today.
Just know this: God sees you, loves you, and He’s not letting go.
And even if you're unsure about Him — God’s never been unsure about you.
