Stronger Together

Unity isn’t about being the same—it’s about coming together, embracing our differences, and building something greater. This post explores the power of respect, inclusion, and standing together in love.

Life is a lot like a potluck—everybody brings something different to the table, and when it all comes together, it's chef’s kiss perfection. Now imagine showing up to a potluck where everyone brought the same dish. A dozen trays of mac and cheese? Sounds tempting, but after a while, you’d be craving a little variety—some spice, some crunch, maybe a little sweetness to balance it all out.

That’s the beauty of unity. It’s not about being the same—it’s about coming together, embracing what makes each of us unique, and realizing that we are stronger, wiser, and better when we stand side by side.

There’s a verse that captures this beautifully:
"so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another." (Romans 12:5, WEB)

We each have our own gifts, our own perspectives, our own journeys. But when we walk together in love and respect, we build something far greater than what any of us could do alone. It’s in our differences that we find richness. It’s in our willingness to listen and learn that we find wisdom. And it’s in our kindness toward one another that we reflect the heart of God.

Sometimes unity takes work. It takes patience, understanding, and a whole lot of grace (because let’s face it—some people will test you). But the effort is always worth it. When we stand together, lifting each other up instead of tearing each other down, we create a world where everyone has a seat at the table—and not just at the kids' table in the corner.

So today, let’s choose unity. Let’s choose respect. Let’s choose to celebrate what makes each of us special while remembering that, at the end of the day, we’re all here to love, grow, and make this world a little brighter...together.

And if you happen to be attending a real-life potluck soon, please, for the love of variety, mix it up. The world needs more than just mac and cheese.
